My Role

As the designer and developer for this project, I:

  • Conducted a user experience audit to identify pain points in the previous website.

  • Designed and built a clean, visually appealing layout tailored to the brand’s personality.

  • Created a web friendly color palette incorporating the business logo colors.

  • Built a custom photo gallery to showcase recent pet guests using their Facebook photo gallery.

  • Optimized the site for performance, accessibility, and mobile responsiveness.

  • Enhanced SEO to improve search engine rankings.

Challenges & Solutions

  • Challenge: The original website lacked clear calls-to-action, leading to user confusion.

    • Solution: Placed bold, easy-to-spot buttons throughout the site for bookings and inquiries.

  • Challenge: The client wanted a way to display Facebook photos of pet guests on the website.

    • Solution: Created a simple gallery that will automatically update daily with new photos posted to Facebook.
