Good Neighbors Social Club

Good Neighbors Social Club is an Atlanta-based community organization dedicated to helping older adults build new friendships and stay socially active. This project involved designing and building a warm, welcoming Squarespace site that reflects the club's spirit and makes it easy for potential members to learn about the organization and get involved. The site was built with a volunteer-run team in mind: simple to navigate, easy to update, and ready to grow as the club expands its programming.

My Role

As the designer and developer for this project:

  • Sourced stock visuals and designed a custom calendar sample graphic to establish a cohesive visual identity

  • Designed and structured the full site architecture with future growth in mind

  • Built page templates ready for expanded programming and event content

  • Conducted training walkthroughs to ensure the team could confidently manage the site after handoff

Challenges & Solutions

  • Challenge: Designing for a volunteer-run organization with limited ongoing technical support

    • Solution: Prioritized simplicity and ease of use throughout — clean page templates, minimal custom code, and thorough training so the team can maintain the site without outside help

  • Challenge: Building a site that could accommodate future features as the club's programming develops

    • Solution: Structured the page architecture with flexibility built in so additional functionality can be added without a redesign when the club is ready
